[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 5일 마산실내체육관에서 ‘제26회 노인의날 기념식 및 실버체육대회’를 개최했다고 보도자료를 통해 밝혔다.
올해로 26번째를 맞는 이번 행사에는 박완수 경상남도지사를 비롯해 신희범 대한노인회 경상남도연합회장, 김호일 대한노인회 회장, 홍남표 창원시장 등 도내 어르신 3,000여 명이 참석했다.
기념식에서는 노인강령 및 경로헌장을 낭독하고, 기념사 및 축사에 이어 실버체육대회 시작을 알리는 시·군 선수단의 화려한 퍼레이드가 펼쳐졌으며, 체조경연대회, 한궁대회, 실버가요대회 등을 통해 어르신들이 즐거운 날을 맞아 축제의 장을 펼쳤다.
특히 유공자 포상에서는 노인복지 증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받은 김진옥 어르신이 대통령 표창을, 구지호 어르신이 국무총리 표창을, 이천종 어르신이 보건복지부장관 표창을 수여하는 등 17명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.

행사에 참석한 홍남표 창원특례시장은 “어르신들의 생활체육인 실버체육대회가 건강한 100세를 지켜주는 큰 디딤돌이 되었으면 좋겠다”고 말하고 “우리 창원시는 어르신들께서 더 나은 여건 속에서 생활체육을 즐기면서 건강을 유지할 수 있도록 더 많은 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
