[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시의회 본회의장에서는 12일 창원시 초·중학생들로 구성된 “창원시 아동의회” 본회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
창원시 아동의회는 창원특례시와 창원특례시의회, 초록우산어린이재단 경남아동옹호센터가 협약을 통해 공동으로 운영하는 아동참여기구로, 창원지역 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 3학년까지 26명의 학생으로 구성됐으며, 지난 4월 13일 발대식을 시작으로 총 11회의 정기모임을 통해 아동의 삶에 영향을 미치는 지역사회 문제에 대해 고민하고 아동의 의견을 대변하기 위한 활동을 성실히 이행 해왔다.
이날 본회의에서는 아동의원 3명의 3분 자유발언과 4개 위원회(운영위원회, 복지위원회, 교육위원회, 특별위원회)를 거쳐 상정된 △온실가스 감축을 위한 자전거 이용 활성화 방안 △아동친화적인 학교도서관 운영 방안 △여가?문화시설 공공형 셔틀버스 운영 △놀이터 내 안전 점검결과 게시 의무화 및 불편 신고 시스템 개발 △아동이 참여하는 기후변화 대책 및 대응 계획 등 생활과 밀접한 안건들을 표결을 통해 가결했다.
가결된 안건들은 시와 창원교육지원청 등에 전달되며, 관련 부서는 제안 내용을 토대로 정책추진 여부 등을 검토해, 내달 정책발표회를 통해 피드백을 주고받는 시간을 가질 계획이다.
김종필 복지여성보건국장은 “아동이 권리의 주체로서 시정에 참여할 수 있는 귀중한 경험이 되었기를 바라며, 아동의 참여권을 보다 확대하기 위한 아동의회 운영에 더욱 내실을 다져 나갈 것이라”고 말했다.
