[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 제4회 남명정신문화예술제가 오는 15~16일 양일간 김해시 분성광장에서 개최된다.
남명정신문화예술제는 2019년 시작된 행사로 김해 대동면 산해정에서 18년 동안 기거하며 학문을 완성한 남명 조식(1501~1572) 선생의 사상을 바탕으로 한 대중문화예술 행사이다.
행사 첫날은 창작공연 ‘아! 남명’과 청소년 페스티벌, 생활예술인 페스티벌이 진행되며 둘째 날에는 전국 남명 어린이 창작 동요제가 열린다. 행사장에는 남명 선생이 입으시던 디자인의 도포를 입고 사진을 찍을 수 있는 ‘남명 포토존’이 마련된다.
조선 중기를 대표하는 성리학자인 남명 선생은 경(敬)과 의(義)를 존중하고 실천하는 선비정신으로 많은 제자를 거느려 남명학파를 형성했다. 실천을 중시한 그의 사상은 임진왜란 시기 의병활동으로 계승되었고 그의 많은 글들은 아직도 충언의 본보기로서 남아있다.
시 관계자는 “현대 사회를 살아가는 삶의 지침이 될 수 있는 남명사상이 김해 산해정에서 완성된 것은 감사한 일”이라며 “남명정신문화예술제가 김해 대표 행사로 자리매김해 김해가 남명사상의 발상지라는 것을 알리는 계기가 되었으면 한다”고 밝혔다.
