한국 개신교단의 모임 가운데 한기총(한국기독교총연합회)이란 단체가 있다. 이 단체는 신천지예수교회(이만희 총회장)를 이단(異端)이라고 규정하고 '신천지 아웃'이란 스티커를 교회에 부착, 홍보해왔다. 한기총은 한 때 여의도순복음(고 조용기 목사 창립) 교회를 이단으로 규정, 비판해왔었다. 그러나 여의도순복음교회는 이 모임의 회원교단이 됐다. 이단과 정통(正統)이 무언지를 말해주는 대목이다. 이단으로 지목된 교단이 교인 수가 늘어 대형교회로 변화하고, 반(反) 사회적인 행태가 없어지면 자연스럽게 탈(脫) 이단화하는 셈이다.
한기총과 신천지예수교회가 오늘날 교리 문제로 으르렁거리는 이유는 과연 무얼까? 여러 가지 이유가 내재돼 있을 것이다. 표면상으로는, 신천지 예수교회가 기독교 기본 교리-예수를 해석하는 게 상이(相異)하다는 이유 때문이다.
한기총에서는 신천지예수교회라는 교단의 폭발적인 교세 신장을 주목하고 있을 것이다. 신천지예수교회는 1년에 10만명 내외의 교인 수가 증가, 급속하게 대형 교회화 하고 있다.
한국은 헌법이 보장하는 다(多)종교의 사회이다. 이 기반 위에서 종교백화점이랄 수 있을 정도로 많은 종교들이 존재하고 있다. 다 종교국가에서의 종교간 대립은 금물(禁物)이다. 사회 불안의 요인이 되기 때문이다. 이를 해소할 방법은, 종교끼리의 덕화력(德化力) 경쟁이다.

최근 3년 여 기간, 코로나19 라는 괴질이 국제적으로 번성할 시기에 신천지예수교회의 공익(公益)활동이 눈에 두드러졌다. 여타 종교와 비교할 때, 공익에의 기여가 유별났다.
신천지예수교회가 10월17일 내놓은 보도자료에 따르면 “보건복지부의 2018~2021년 헌혈 현황 자료에 따르면 지난 3년간 일반 헌혈량의 감소로 혈액 수급이 어려워지면서 투병 중인 환자가 헌혈자를 직접 구하는 지정 헌혈량이 폭증했다. 특히 2020년~2021년은 코로나19 팬데믹으로 혈액수급에 비상이 걸리면서 환자들이 헌혈자를 구하는데 큰 어려움을 겪었다”고 한다.
이런 위기 시대에 신천지예수교회 내 청년 기관이 뛰어들었다.
이 보도자료는 “최근에도 SNS상에 지정 헌혈자를 찾는 환자들이 급증하자 위아원(신천지예수교회 교단 내 단체.
