김해시, ‘미래자동차 클러스터’ 조성 박차

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 ‘미래자동차 클러스터’ 조성사업을 위해 한림면 명동일반산업단지 일원에 2만7,850㎡ 규모의 부지를 확보했다고 18일 밝혔다.

세계적인 추세인 미래차 전환으로 전동화·자율주행 부품 등 새로운 성장 기회가 창출된 것에 반해 엔진·동력 전달 등 내연기관 부품 수요는 감소될 전망으로, 관내 자동차업계도 전통적인 내연기관에서 미래차로 전환하기 위한 계기가 필요한 상태다.

이에 따라 시는 900여 개 관내 자동차 부품회사의 미래차 부품 전환을 촉진하고 고부가가치 기술산업을 육성하기 위해 지난해부터 경상남도, 경남테크노파크와 함께 미래자동차 클러스터 조성을 준비해왔다.

시는 명동일반산업단지 일원에 대규모 미래차 클러스터 조성을 목표로 토지 소유자와 협의한 끝에 약 140억 원 규모의 부지 매매계약을 체결해 1차분 9,469㎡은 이달 초 소유권이전등기를 완료했고 나머지 잔여분은 2023년, 2024년에 걸쳐 연부취득할 계획이다.

시 관계자는 “글로벌 자동차산업이 미래차로 급격히 전환되고 있어, 미래자동차 클러스터를 조성해 지역 자동차회사가 미래차 부품 전환에 성공적으로 전환할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
