이번에 공급하는 씨감자는‘수미’품종이며 내년 2월, 씨감자 파종 전에 공급할 계획이다.
전체 공급량은 18톤(900박스/20kg)이며, 공급가격은 20kg 박스당 28,000원으로 강원도산 31,680원에 비하여 88% 수준으로 저렴하며, 희망 농가는 기한 내에 읍.면 산업팀에 신청하면 된다.
감자는 병리적.생리적 퇴화가 심하여 일반재배한 감자를 반복해 심으면 수확량이 크게 감소해 반복적인 종자 갱신이 필요하다.
특히 울진산 씨감자는 조직배양과 수경재배를 통해 생산.관리하고 금강송면 채종포에서 3회의 바이러스 검사를 통과한 우수 관리 종자로서 감자 재배 농가의 높은 생산성이 기대된다.
울진군 농업기술센터 황증호 소장은“조직배양으로 생산한 씨감자는 바이러스 감염률이 낮고 생산성도 20~30% 높다”며, “울진산 씨감자는 다른 씨감자보다 증식단계가 적어서 종서 활력이 높고 병해충 발생도 적으니 울진산 씨감자에 많은 관심을 바란다”고 말했다.
