세종시, BRT역세권·금강수변 상가 허용용도 완화

앞으로 세종시 BRT역세권과 금강수변 상가에 대한 허용용도가 일부 완화되면서 세종시의 상가 공실률이 일부 해소될 것으로 보인다.

이는 상가 공실 문제가 세종시의 현안으로 부상하면서 세종시가 이에 대한 대책을 찾고 있는 가운데 그에 대한 대책 일환으로 상가 허용용도 완화를 담은 지구단위계획 결정 사항을 20일 고시하면서다.

이번 지구단위계획 결정 고시 절차로 상가 허용용도가 완화되는 구역은 상가 공실 문제가 심각한 간선급행버스(BRT) 역세권 및 금강수변 상가다.

이번 고시로 BRT 역세권 상가의 경우 이·미용원, 주민체육시설 등, 금강수변 상가는 이·미용원, 서점, 일반업무시설 등이 추가로 허용된다.

세종시는 2007년 12월 수립된 지구단위계획에 따라 그동안 BRT 역세권 상가는 학원, 병원, 업무시설에만, 금강수변 상가는 음식점, 소매점, 공연장에만 입점을 허용해왔다.

이번 조치는 지난 8월 10일 발표한 상가공실 최소화 방안에 따른 후속조치로 시정4기 출범과 함께 제시한 핵심공약인 상가공실 문제 해결을 위한 전방위적 조치계획의 첫 번째 성과물로 세종시는 상가공실 해소 및 소상공인 지원을 위해 그동안 불허해왔던 상가의 업종 허용용도를 완화하기로 하고, 지역 상인과 관련 단체 및 전문가 등으로 구성된 시민협의체를 통해 논의해왔다.

한편 이번 고시로 20일부터는 BRT 역세권과 금강수변 상가에 새로 허용된 업종의 입점이 허용된다.

최민호 시장은 “시정4기 출범 이후 상가공실 해결을 위한 이번 상가 허용용도 완화 대책이 지역 소상공인의 경영 개선에 마중물이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 전면공지 관리 규정 개선, 잔여 상가용지 면적 축소 등 지속적인 상가 활성화 대책을 추진해 지역활력 회복에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
