브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 러시아군이 이란제 자폭 드론을 적극적으로 활용하면서 우크라이나군이 고전하고 있다. 다만 우크라이나군은 지난 9월 이후 드론 방어 전략을 통해 약 70% 정도는 요격하고 있다고 밝혔다.
23일(현지시간) 뉴욕타임스 보도에 따르면 우크라이나 국방부는 러시아군이 드론 공격을 시작한 지난 9월 13일 이후 이란제 자폭 드론 샤헤드-136을 237대 격추했다고 밝혔다.
우크라이나군은 드론 공격을 방어하기 위해 전투기를 24시간 출격시켜 순찰하고 있다. 공중에서 드론을 찾아내 요격시키는 방법이 가장 효율적이라고 했다.

지상군이 육안 감시를 통해 자폭드론을 발견하면, 대공미사일을 발사하거나 소총 사격을 통해 제거에 나선다. 키이우에서 근무 중인 한 경찰관은 드론의 비행소리를 듣고선 소총으로 공격해 드론을 격추시켰다고 증언하기도 했다.
다만 완벽히 방어하기는 아직도 어려움이 따른다.
볼로디미르 젤렌스키 대통령도 지난 22일 대국민 연설에서 "아직 러시아 미사일과 자폭 드론을 100% 격추할 능력은 없지만 우방국들의 도움으로 요격율을 높여가고 있고, 공군도 좋은 성과를 내고 있다"면서 드론방어 방공시스템 구축을 위한 지원을 요청했다.
