[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시가 외국인주민 정착 및 화합을 위한 글로벌 커뮤니티 공간인 가야글로벌센터를 지난 23일 정식 개소해 본격적인 운영을 시작한다고 24일 밝혔다.
이날 개소식에는 김석기 김해시 부시장을 비롯해 부산출입국 외국인청장과 김해시의원, 관내 외국인 이용시설 대표 등, 김해시와 협약을 체결한 외국인공동체 대표 및 외국인 주민 100여명이 참석해 가야글로벌센터의 개소를 축하했다.
가야글로벌센터는 김해시가 2022년 행정안전부 외국인 주민 등 거주지역 기초인프라 조성사업에 선정돼, 사업비 3억1백만원으로 동상시장 공영주차장 6층을 리모델링 하고, 한국마사회 부산경남지역본부 후원금 천만원을 경남 지역문제 해결플랫폼을 통해 지원받아 가야글로벌 지원단이 24년 12월까지 위탁 운영하게 된다.
안윤지 가야글로벌센터 대표는 “외국인 주민을 위해 좋은 환경을 만들어 주신 김해시에 깊이 감사드린다.”며 “외국인 주민들이 언제든 찾아와 상담하고 쉴 수 있으며 다양한 프로그램 제공으로 지역 주민과 화합할 수 있는 센터가 되도록 열심히 운영하겠다.”고 말했다.
