[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 수소와 원자력을 중심으로 하는 미래에너지 정책 추진을 이끌어 갈 담당공무원의 업무역량과 전문성 강화를 위해 25일 수소연료전지발전소인 부산그린에너지와 고리원자력발전소의 방문·견학을 시행했다.

창원특례시는 민선8기 출범 이후 원자력산업의 부활과 재도약을 위한 다양한 정책을 추진하고 있으며, 수소산업은 그간의 역량과 성과를 토대로 산업 고도화를 위한 새로운 정책 추진을 준비하고 있다.

특히 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁으로 세계적으로 에너지 안보문제가 대두되며, 에너지 자급자족의 중요성이 커진 만큼 수소와 원자력을 중심으로 하는 미래에너지 정책과 업무를 담당하는 공무원의 전문성 및 역량 강화를 위해 한국수력원자력의 협조로 수소연료전지발전소와 원자력발전소 견학을 추진했다.

창원특례시에서 수소 및 에너지 업무를 담당하고 있는 본청, 구청 직원들과 창원대 수소특성화대학원 석·박사 과정 학생 등으로 구성된 30여명의 방문단은 먼저 부산그린에너지를 방문해 창원시가 한수원과 공동으로 추진하고 있는 분산형 및 대규모 연료전지발전사업에 대한 업무 이해도를 높였다.

이후 기장군에 위치한 고리 원자력홍보관으로 이동해, 시설 현황 등에 대한 한수원 관계자의 설명과 함께 에너지의 변천사, 전력 생산의 원리, 원자로 모형, 방사선 안전 관리 등에 관한 각종 전시물 및 영상물 관람했다.

류효종 미래전략산업국장은 “이번 견학을 통해 해당 업무 담당공무원은 물론 에너지 분야 미래 인재인 창원대학교 수소특성화대학원 학생들의 수소연료전지발전 및 원자력발전에 대한 이해도를 높일 수 있는 귀중한 시간이 되었다”며 “앞으로도 미래 에너지 산업을 이끌어갈 인재 양성과 담당공무원의 역량 강화를 위한 다양한 노력을 통해 수소산업과 원자력산업이 창원의 주력 산업으로 계속 발전될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
