브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 최재성 전 청와대 정무수석은 최근 김의겸 더불어민주당 의원이 제기한 청담동에서 윤석열 대통령과 한동훈 법무부 장관이 김앤장 변호사 30여명과 술자리를 가졌다는 의혹 제기에 대해 "실책"이라고 평가했다.
최재성 전 수석은 26일 오후 MBC라디오 ‘표창원의 뉴스하이킥’에서 "우선은 설정 자체가 조금 납득이 안 가는 측면들이 있다. 보통 그런 문제가 있으면 크로스체킹을 해야 되는데 (이번 건은) 크로스체킹할 사안도 아닌 것 같다"고 밝혔다.
그는 "30명의 로펌 변호사, 대통령, 법무부 장관, 그다음에 술집 이런 설정 자체가 조금 납득이 안 가는 측면들이 있다"면서 대통령과 법무부 장관, 그리고 수십명의 로펌 핵심 변호사들이 모였는데 소문이 안 날 수 없다고 했다.
최 전 수석은 "이번 의혹 제기는 일반적인 성질하고는 조금 다른 사안이기 때문에 (김의겸 의원이) 실책한 것으로 본다"며 지적했다.
그는 특히 "김의겸 의원은 그냥 의원이 아니고 당의 직책(대변인)을 맡고 있는데, 녹취록을 민주당 지도부 회의석상에서 녹취록까지 틀었다"면서 "이것을 민주당의 문제로 가면 안 된다. 빨리 이거를 거둬들이고 (실책을 했음을) 인정할 건 인정해야 한다"고 했다.
그러면서 "사과를 안 하는 대통령과 집권당, 그러나 실책이 있으면 빨리 사과하고 또 거둬들이는 야당이라는 신뢰의 게임을 하면서 국민들에게 다가가야 한다"고 조언했다.
