[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 ‘창원단감로’를 명예도로로 선정하고 이를 널리 알리기 위해 명예도로명판 7개소를 설치했다고 28일 밝혔다.
시는 창원단감의 역사성과 우수성을 알리고 관련 기업유치, 관광 활성화 및 지역 농업인의 자긍심 고취를 위해 지난 7일 명예도로명을 부여하였으며 명예도로명은 ‘창원단감로’로 지정했다.
창원단감로는 의창구 동읍 주남삼거리~ 북면 신촌회전교차로까지 15km구간에 부여되었으며 명칭은 오는 2027년 10월 6일까지 사용된다.
특히 3년 만에 대면으로 진행하는 ‘창원단감축제’를 맞아 축제를 찾는 관광객들에게 ‘창원단감로’를 효과적으로 홍보할 수 있는 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다.
이재광 건축경관과장은 “창원단감은 올해 국가중요농업유산으로 지정될 만큼 역사성과 우수성이 뛰어나다”며 “이를 효과적으로 홍보하는 데 명예도로명이 그 역할을 톡톡히 할 것으로 기대되며, 창원을 방문하는 관광객들이 창원단감을 알아가는 좋은 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
