[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경상남도지사는 1일 오전 창원컨벤션센터 컨벤션홀에서 개최된 ‘제4회 경남 임업인의 날’에 참석해 도내 임업인들을 격려하고 축하했다.
임업인의 날은 임업인의 자부심 고취와 권익향상의 기회를 마련하고, 임업과 산촌의 가치를 국민에게 알리고자 2020년부터 숲가꾸기 기간(11.1.~11.30.)의 첫날을 법정기념일로 지정됐다.
이번 행사는 박완수 경상남도지사, 김진부 경상남도의회의장, 황성태 서부지방산림청장, 강주호 산림조합중앙회 부산울산경남지역 본부장을 비롯해 도내 임업인 400여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
기념식은 ‘도민과 함께 임업인이 만들어가는 산림르네상스시대 구현’이라는 슬로건으로 산림분야 유공자 시상, 우수임업인 성공사례 발표와 임업사랑 한마음대회로 진행됐다.

유공자 시상에는 산림 현장에서 임업발전에 기여하고 임업인의 자긍심 향상에 노력한 공로를 인정받은 박형태, 이영홍 씨가 산림청장상을 수여하는 등 임업단체 회원 29명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.
박 도지사는 격려사를 통해 “쾌적한 도민생활과 지속가능한 경남발전에 있어 자연과 산림의 기능이 어느 때보다 중요해졌다”며 “임업분야에서 더 큰 역할을 할 수 있도록 고민하면서 도민휴식과 임업발전을 위한 공간 조성에 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
