브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이태원 참사 원인 규명을 위해 설치된 경찰청 특별수사본부가 2일 서울경찰청, 용산경찰서, 용산구청 등 8곳에 대해 압수수색을 실시하고 있다.
이날 경찰청에 따르면 특수본은 이날 오후 2시부터 서울경찰청과 용산경찰서, 용산구청, 서울시소방재난본부 서울종합방재센터, 용산소방서, 서울교통공사, 다산콜센터, 이태원역 등에 수사 인력을 보내 압수수색을 실시, 관련 증거 자료 등을 수집하고 있다.
특수본은 사고 당일 112신고 관련 자료 등을 확보해, 참사 발생 4시간 전부터 걸려온 11건의 신고에 대해 담당 경찰관들이 직무상 책임을 다했는지, 신고를 전파받은 각급 지휘관들이 적절하게 현장 대처했는지 등을 살펴볼 계획이다.
경찰청은 전날 공개한 11건의 신고 녹취록에 따르면 시민들은 '압사' 등의 단어를 사용하며 사고 발생을 우려했으나, 경찰은 이러한 신고를 받고도 경비 인력을 늘리는 등의 조치를 취하지 않은 것으로 전해졌다.
특히 11건의 신고를 받고도 현장출동은 단 4건에 그쳤다.
아울러 용산경찰서에 대한 압수수색을 통해 경찰력 투입 계획 등 전반적 준비 상황과 사고 당일 용산서가 취한 안전관리 조치의 적절성도 들여다 볼 예정이다. 또한 용산경찰서의 기동대 병력 지원 요청을 서울경찰청이 거부했다는 의혹에 대해서도 살펴볼 것으로 보인다.
