[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도는 14일 ‘지역 인재 육성을 위한 TF 법학전문대학원 설치분과’ 1차 회의를 개최했다.
이날 회의는 최만림 경상남도 행정부지사를 비롯해 도내 법학과 대학 교수, 로스쿨 출신 변호사, 연구원 등 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
이번 회의는 지난 9일 박완수 경상남도지사가 주재한 ‘도정 핵심과제 점검보고회’에 포함된 추진과제 중 하나로 도내에 우수인재를 유치하고 지역인재가 지역을 떠나지 않고도 살 수 있는 토대를 만들기 위한 ’지역인재 육성을 위한 TF‘ 중 법학전문대학원 설치 분과의 첫 번째 회의이다.
현재 경남은 지역 내 법학전문대학원이 없어 우수한 학생들이 외부로 유출되고, 인구, 지역총생산 규모가 수도권 제외 시 전국 2위로 법률 수요가 증가하고 있는 추세이다.
최만림 행정부지사는 “법학전문대학원 설치 10여 년이 흐른 현 시점에서 대학의 발전 및 지역균형과 지역산업 규모에 필요한 법학전문대학원 설치 학교수와 입학정원에 대한 재평가가 필요하다”고 말했다.
이어 “지역의 우수인재가 지역 법학전문대학원출신 법조인이 되어 도민에게 양질의 법률서비스제공이 필요하며, 이를 위해, 법학전문대학원설치 등을 위한 각계각층의 인사들이 힘을 모아주실 것을 당부드린다”고 말했다.
한편 경남도는 도내 대학과 전문가들과 협력해 법학전문대학원, 의료분야대학, 과학기술 기관, 대학고교인재육성 등을 위한 로드맵을 수립하고 지역에서 유치 분위기를 조성하는 등 인재육성 종합계획과 세부실천계획 수립을 적극 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
