[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 지난 16일 창원에서 열린 제27회 농업인의 날 행사 경남 브랜드 쌀 시상에서 김해시의 대표 쌀 브랜드인 ‘가야뜰쌀’이 이 부분 대상을 수상했다고 17일 밝혔다.
경남도는 외관상 품위, 품종 혼입률, 식미(밥맛), 계약재배, 판매.홍보실적 등의 엄격한 평가를 거쳐 매년 경남 우수 브랜드 쌀을 선정한다.
대상을 수상한 ‘가야뜰쌀’은 경남 쌀 소비 촉진 행사 때 우수 브랜드 쌀로 홍보되고 양정시설, 포장재 지원 같은 경남도 자체 보조사업 우선지원 인센티브가 부여된다.
밥맛이 우수한 최고 품질 쌀로 평가받는 영호진미 단일 품종인 가야뜰쌀은 김해지역 13개 농협이 출자해 설립한 김해시농협공동사업법인이 관내 농가들과 계약 재배해 생산단계부터 엄격하게 관리하고 있으며 최신 시설을 갖춘 미곡종합처리장에서 도정한다.
특히 가야뜰쌀은 지난 2019년 한·아세안 특별정상회담 만찬에 사용되었으며 2020년에는 경남 브랜드 쌀 우수상을 수상한데 이어 올해는 대상을 수상하며 경남 최고 명품 쌀로 인정받았다.
