The end of the prosecution's knife is now for CEO Lee Jae-myung.The Democratic Party is also in chaos

"Personal affairs of the representative, should be separated from the party" vs "suppression of the prosecution's dictatorship" The position is also divided within the party

Reporter Jung Myung-hoon

As the prosecution's knife slowly heads toward Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea, the Democratic Party of Korea seems to be in chaos.

Chung Jin-sang, head of the political affairs coordination office, and Kim Yong-yong, vice president of the Democratic Research Institute, who are classified as closest aides to Lee Jae-myung, have been arrested one after another, raising speculation that the investigation may expand to the top leader.

In response, the Democratic Party of Korea is in a position that the ruling party should define it as political oppression and make the loan struggle clearer, and that representative Lee should express his regret or even consider resigning as a representative.

In particular, some point out whether it is right for the party to respond to the allegations raised by the prosecution against individual representative Lee Jae-myung. There are many concerns that it could put the entire party in crisis if it tries to save Lee's individual.

These arguments are gradually becoming more vocal, especially among non-Lee Jae-myung lawmakers.

Rep. Cho Eung-cheon said on BBS Radio's "Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal" on the 21st, "There is no way to be honest whether CEO Lee Jae-myung has anything to do with the suspicion of Daejang-dong," adding, "There should be at least a minimum expression of regret over the arrest of two closest aides."

Lawmaker Cho went on to claim, "We don't know the truth of the various issues raised with Daejang-dong clearly," adding, "It's time to explain it in person, and there should be a political gesture that shows the least regret."

Rep. Park Yong-jin, who competed for party leadership, also said on SBS radio's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show" that "the court issued a warrant (to two of Lee's closest aides) and approved his arrest, and I can guess that there are objective facts, regardless of whether he is guilty or not." However, we are thinking that the party should not be hit politically in connection with this incident," he stressed.

Rep. Lee Sang-min also said earlier, "This is not a political battle, but a judicial response." The party is a public organization, so it is appropriate to respond separately, he said. "It is too much for Lee to reveal his innocence and innocence, and it is too much for the party to come forward as if it were all-in." It is not appropriate," he pointed out.

On the other hand, floor leader Park Hong-geun said at a Supreme Council meeting on the 21st, "It is the oppression of the prosecution's dictatorship," "The essence of the arrest of Jeong Jin-sang and Kim Yong is to kill Lee Jae-myung at the Yoon Suk Yeol regime," and "The Democratic Party will never tolerate the destruction of the opposition to kill Lee Jae-myung."
