지방자치단체 수도사고 대응을 체계적이고 전문적으로 지원하기 위한 유역수도지원센터 종합상황실이 운영을 시작한다
환경부와 한국수자원공사는 25일 대전 대덕구에 위치한 한국수자원공사 본사에서 유역수도지원센터 종합상황실 개소식 행사를 열고 본격적인 운영에 나선다.
이날 개소식에는 유제철 환경부 차관, 박재현 한국수자원공사 사장 및 임·직원을 비롯해 유관기관 및 수도분야 전문가 등 50여 명이 참석한다.
유역수도지원센터는 지난 2019년 5월 인천 붉은 수돗물 사고 이후, 지자체의 수도시설 운영과 수도사고 대응을 체계적이고 전문적으로 지원하기 위해 2020년에 조직이 설립됐다.
유역수도지원센터는 한강, 금강, 영산·섬진강, 낙동강 등 4개 유역별로 운영을 맡게된다.
유역수도지원센터에서는 수도사고 발생 시 사고원인 파악, 조기 정상화 등을 위한 기술지원 업무를 수행하고, 사고의 우려가 있는 수도공급체계 변경, 유수율 제고와 같이 운영 효율화를 위한 업무 등 지자체별 여건을 고려해 맞춤형 기술을 지원한다.
재난에 따른 수돗물 공급 장애의 해결을 위한 지원 업무도 수행한다.
한편 ,환경부는 2020년부터 유역의 상수도 운영 현황을 관리하고, 수도사업자와 공동으로 사고대응을 할 수 있도록 4개 유역수도지원센터와 이를 총괄하는 이번 유역수도지원센터 종합상황실을 구축해왔다.
