울진군 유기농산물의 우수성 알리다

【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 19일과 20일 포항 영일대 해수욕장 일대에서 진행된‘2022 경상북도 친환경 농산물 품평회 및 홍보 판매행사’에서 울진군 유기농산물의 우수성을 알렸다.

24일 군에 따르면 이날 기성면의 정영산 쌀전업농 회장이 곡류 분야 대상을, 기성면 다천리에서 유기농 토마토를 생산하는 김대균씨가 채소류 분야 금상을 수상했다.

경상북도가 주관하고 (사)경상북도친환경농업협회가 주최한 이번 행사는 친환경농업에 관한 소비자 이해증진과 품질평가 및 우수농가 시상을 통해 농업인의 사기 고취 및 친환경농업 확대 분위기 조성을 위해 개최되었으며 평가는 곡류, 채소, 특작서류, 과실류, 가공품류 및 기타, 버섯류 등 6개 분야로 진행됐다.

곡류 분야 대상을 받은 정영산 회장은 매년 호밀재배와 볏짚을 환원하는 등 기본에 충실한 토양관리와 우렁이를 활용한 제초작업 등으로 안전하고 밥맛 좋은 고품질 유기농 쌀을 생산하고 있고, 기성면 다천리에서 시설하우스에서 유기농 토마토, 방울토마토를 재배하는 김대균 농가도 참나무 수피, 짚, 소금 및 유기질 퇴비를 활용해 유기농을 실천하고 있어 좋은 평가를 받았다.

손병복 울진군수는“이번 수상은 울진군 유기농산물의 우수성을 알리는 계기가 되었으며 앞으로도 안전하고 품질 좋은 친환경 농산물 생산을 위해 농가에서 필요한 사업을 적극적으로 지원하겠다”라고 전했다.
