[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시의회는 26일 의회 정문에서 연말을 맞아 지역 내 소외된 이웃들의 따뜻한 겨울나기 준비를 위해 김장나누기 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 통합창원시의회 1~3대 전직 시의원과 4대 현직 시의원 등 100여 명이 참여해 직접 담근 김치 약 600포기(2000㎏)를 홀로 김장을 준비하기 어려운 한 부모 및 조손 가정 등 취약계층 200여 세대에 전달할 예정이다.
특히 이번 나눔행사에는 현직 시의원뿐만 아니라 전직 시의원들도 함께 참여해 더욱 뜻깊은 자리가 되었다. 한 전직 시의원은 “오랜만에 옛 동료들을 만나니 친정에 온 기분”이라며, “이웃을 돕는 행사에 작은 도움이나마 보탬이 돼서 좋았다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
김이근 의장은 “우리 지역의 어려운 이웃들이 보다 따뜻한 겨울을 보내는 데 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 이번 행사를 진행하게 됐다”며, “앞으로도 지역사회 곳곳에 온정을 베풀고 따뜻한 사회를 만들기 위해 적극적인 지원 활동을 펼칠 것”이라고 말했다.
