[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 지난 25일 진해중앙시장 일대에서 여성폭력추방주간 기념 캠페인을 실시했다고 29일 밝혔다.

이번 캠페인은 여성폭력 추방주간(11월 25일~12월 1일)을 맞아, 시민들에게 여성폭력의 위험성을 알리고 관심을 높이기 위해 실시됐다.

창원시 공무원을 비롯한 여성시설 관계자, 여성폭력방지위원회, 우리동네한바퀴지킴이단 등 70여 명이 참여해 여성폭력 근절을 위한 선언문 낭독, 거리캠페인 및 홍보물 배부 등으로 이뤄졌다.

시는 여성폭력추방주간 기념으로 12월 1일 찾아가는 폭력예방 교육 및 디펜스(호신술)교육을 각각 실시하며, 2일에는 우리동네한바퀴 지킴이단활동보고회를 개최할 예정이다.

최종옥 여성가족과장은 “이번 주간 표어인 '우리의 관심이 여성폭력 없는 일상을 지킵니다'는 '우리'가 일상 속 여성폭력 예방의 주체임을 강조하고, 시민 모두의 관심과 참여가 필요하다는 의미를 담았다”며 “여성폭력추방주간을 통해 여성폭력 근절을 위한 사회적 관심이 높아지길 바라며, 여성이 안전하고 폭력 없는 지역사회를 만들기 위해서 다각적인 노력을 기울일 계획이다”고 밝혔다.
