[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 1일 지역 기술창업기업의 투자유치 확대와 유럽 진출 지원을 위해 한국전기연구원, KIC유럽 및 창원산업진흥원과 업무협력 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
협약식은 KERI 창원 본원에서 열렸으며, 협력 분야는 △창원 강소특구 해외 진출 유망 기업 발굴 △유럽 내 스타트업 협력 기업·기관 발굴 및 연계 △해외 지사화 지원 △ 창원 기술창업기업 해외 진출 신규 프로그램 기획 및 운영 △ 해외 진출 기업 추적 관리 등이다.
KIC(글로벌혁신센터:Korea innovation Center)유럽은 과학기술·ICT 분야의 스타트업/혁신기업 글로벌화를 위해 2017년 3월 독일 베를린에 설립된 센터다. 유럽 스타트업의 허브인 독일 베를린에 위치하고 있으며, 국내 스타트업의 유럽시장 진출, 투자 유치 등 전주기 지원 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
창원 강소특구는 2019년 특구로 지정 이래, 한국전기연구원을 중심으로 기술이전 사업화, 강소형 기술창업 육성, 특성화 성장지원 등 다양한 사업 추진으로 지역산업 발전에 크게 기여하고 있다.
김종욱 KERI 전략정책본부장은 “이번 업무협약을 계기로 창원 강소특구가 발굴한 지역의 우수한 스타트업들이 성공적인 해외 진출의 초석을 다지기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
