【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 울진읍 고성리 일원의 아영레미콘에서 북부삼거리까지의 울진대로 4차로 확장 사업을 추진한다고 1일 밝혔다.

군에 따르면 이번 사업은 2021년5월 완료한 국도 7호선 온양교차로에서 아영레미콘까지의 4차로 확장사업에 이어서 북부삼거리까지 4차로로 확장하는 사업이다.
해당 노선은 2016년 기본계획을 시작으로 총연장 4.7km, 사업비 445억 원의 예산확보로 사업을 구상하였다. 이 구간 중 남대천교에서 수산교차로까지 2.6km는 지방도로 경상북도에 사업 시행을 지속적으로 건의한바, 11월 현재 실시설계용역에 착수하여 진행 중이라고 한다.
울진대로는 국도 36호선 울진 구간 직선화 개통으로 내륙지방 관광객의 교통량 급증과 동해선(포항~삼척) 철도 개통을 대비한 시가지 교통량 분산, 주변 지역 연계 기반 조성을 위하여 4차로 도로 확장이 시급한 실정이다.
이에 울진군은 아영레미콘에서 북부삼거리 400m 구간에 33억 예산투자로 2023년 연말 내 준공을 목표로 사업에 박차를 가하고 있다.
손병복 울진군수는“이번 사업 추진으로 울진군을 찾는 내륙지역의 관광객들이 안전하고 쾌적한 도로 이용으로 지역경제 활성화와 교통사고 예방에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대한다”며“본 사업이 원활히 추진될 수 있도록 주민들의 많은 협조를 부탁드린다”라고 당부의 말을 전했다.
