브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 주호영 국민의힘 원내대표는 5일 문재인 전 대통령 측근들과 야권 인사들이 서훈 전 국가안보실장의 구속에 대해 '정치보복'을 주장하는데 대해 "대한민국 역사상 최대 정치보복을 자행한 것은 바로 문재인 정권"이라고 반박했다.
주호영 원내대표는 이날 오전 국회에서 열린 비상대책위원회 회의에서 "(문재인정부) 집권 내내 적폐청산이라는 미명 아래 1000명 이상을 조사하고 무려 200명 이상을 구속하지 않았나"라며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "(문 정부는) 안보 전문가들이라는 국정원장도 5명이나 구속하지 않았나"라며 "이제와서 서훈 전 실장이 안보 전문가이고 소중한 자산이라는 말은 이해가 되질 않는다"고 꼬집었다.
이어 "지금 검찰 수사는 사법 시스템에 따라 합법적으로 이뤄지는 것일 뿐 정치보복이 전혀 아니다"라며 "문재인 전 대통령이 했던 수사 자체가 정치보복의 본보기일 뿐이다. 기무사 계엄문건, 김학의 전 법무부 차관 의혹 사건 등을 직접 수사 지휘했는데, 모두 무혐의 나온 것 아닌가"라고 지적했다.
주호영 원내대표는 또한 최근 북핵위기 상황임을 언급하며 "트럼프 행정부에서 북핵 문제를 다뤘던 사람들은 회고록에서 문 전 대통령을 거짓말쟁이와 가깝게 기록하고 있다"며 "한미 간에 무슨 신뢰가 있던 것인지 모르겠다"고 비꼬기도 했다.
주 원내대표는 이와함께 "현재 진행되고 있는 관련 수사들은 지난 정권 때, 민주당 대선 경선 때 이미 불거진 것들이다"라며 "지난 정부에서 수사를 지지부진하게 하고 재판을 연기해 사법 시스템을 망가뜨렸다고 생각하는 국민들이 대부분이니 제발 정신 차리기를 바란다"고 말했다.
