[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시정연구원 창원항만물류연구센터는 7일 창원특례시 및 유관기관 관계자가 참석한 가운데 ‘2022년 제3차 창원 해운항만·물류포럼’을 개최했다.
‘상하이항 및 자유무역구의 발전과 창원특례시의 시사점’을 주제로 한 이번 포럼에서는 항만물류 중심의 상하이 발전전략과 배후지역의 활용 사례를 통해 진해신항의 착공을 앞둔 창원특례시가 나아갈 길에 대해 논의했다.
이번 포럼에서 발제를 맡은 한국해양수산개발원 김세원 부연구위원은 “4차 산업혁명 및 글로벌 공급망 재편으로 급변하는 환경에서 항만경쟁력 확보를 위해 상하이는 항만을 중심으로 다양한 해운항만산업의 집적화에 집중하고 있다”며 “상하이는 2050년까지 기술 및 서비스 등 모든 부문을 아우르는 종합거점 항만의 건설을 목표로 하고 있다”고 밝혔다.

김영표 창원시정연구원장은 “창원특례시가 재도약하기 위해서는 진해신항을 중심으로 해운항만 및 연관 산업 육성이 중요하다”며 “항만을 중심으로 첨단제조와 물류의 융복합을 선도하고 있는 상하이 사례를 통해 진해신항을 보유한 창원특례시의 발전방향을 서둘러 고민해야 할 것이다”고 말했다.
이어 연내에 일본 항만도시를 대상으로 항만 중심의 도시 발전 및 도시재개발 사례를 다룰 제4차 창원 해운항만·물류포럼의 개최계획도 밝혔다.
