[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 7일 진해 해군사관학교에서 개최 중인 ‘2022 충무공이순신방위산업전(YIDEX)’과 연계해 ‘한-호주 방산 협력 컨퍼런스’와 ‘방산혁신클러스터 오픈 이노베이션’ 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 오전 해군사관학교 학술정보원 대회의실에서 열린 ‘한-호주 방산 협력 컨퍼런스’는, 창원시와 주한호주대사관 무역투자대표부(Austrade)가 주최하고 호주 방산시장 진출에 관심 있는 기업 임직원 70여명이 참석한 가운데, 호주의 획득 정책 및 현지화(AIC) 정책 소개, 호주 New South Wales 주와 Western Australia 주의 기업 지원 정책, 한화에어로스페이스의 호주진출 성공사례 발표 순으로 진행되어 한국과 호주의 방산 협력을 공고히 했다.
또한, 오후 학술정보원 대형강의실에서 열린 ‘방산혁신클러스터 오픈 이노베이션’은 경남창원방산혁신클러스터사업단이 주최하고, 대우조선해양이 후원하는 가운데 지역내 주요 체계기업(대우조선해양, 한화시스템, 한국항공우주산업, 효성중공업, KTE)이 필요로 하는 기술과 중소벤처기업들이 보유한 기술을 매칭시켜 기술력 있는 중소벤처기업들이 방산 사업에 활발하게 참여할 수 있도록 지원하는 기술교류회 형식으로 진행됐다.
경남창원방산혁신클러스터는 방위사업청, 경남도, 창원시가 국비 250억원, 지방비 240억원을 투입해 방산 소재·부품의 선제적 개발, 대·중소기업 상생협력, 지역인재 육성, 지역일자리 창출에 기여하기 위한 대한민국 최초의 지자체 주도 국방지원사업으로 사업단에서는 지역 방산기업 육성을 위한 다양한 지원사업을 추진 중이다.
대우조선해양 특수선본부장 정우성 전무는 “이번 행사를 통해 지역내 방산 체계기업들과 중소벤처기업 간 폭넓은 교류와 긴밀한 협력관계가 구축되기를 바란다”며, “중소벤처기업의 방위산업 진출을 활성화하고 군에서 필요로 하는 기술개발을 촉진함으로써 방위산업 경쟁력 강화와 대중소 기업의 동반 성장에 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
류효종 미래전략산업국장은 “이번 오픈 이노베이션 행사는 지역 내 방산기업 동반성장 생태계 조성을 위한 상생의 장을 제공하기 위해 마련되었으며, 교류회로 끝나는 것이 아닌 실질적인 사업으로 이어지도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
