[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 7일 창원컨벤션센터 컨벤션홀에서 자원봉사자의 날을 기념하기 위해 자원봉사자 300여 명이 참여한 가운데 2022년 창원시 자원봉사자대회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
창원시 자원봉사단체협의회 주관으로 개최된 이번 행사는 코로나19 확산 이후 3년 만에 회원들이 함께하는 뜻깊은 자리로 우수 자원봉사 유공자 시상과 함께 한 해 동안의 활동 성과를 담은 영상, 축하공연 등 기억에 남는 시간을 선사했다.
유공자 시상식에는 시 자원봉사 활성화와 공로를 인정받은 창원시자원봉사단체협의회 전정숙씨가 ‘2022년 자원봉사왕’ 상패를 수여 받았다. 그 외에도 자원봉사 활동지원 우수단체, 우수봉사자, 기업체, 공무원 등 총 88명에게 표창패와 감사패가 수여됐다.
매년 12월 5일은 UN에서 자원봉사자의 노고에 감사함을 전하기 위해 지정한 날로 이날을 기리기 위해 시는 매년 자원봉사자대회를 개최해오고 있으며 창원특례시에는 30만 자원봉사자가 활동 중이다.
전태완 창원시 자원봉사단체협의회 회장은 “이 겨울 몸은 춥지만 마음이 따뜻한 이유는 자원봉사자 여러분들의 관심과 참여 덕분이라고 생각한다”며 “앞으로도 여러분들의 온기가 지역 곳곳에 잘 퍼져 나갈 수 있도록 앞에서 끌고 뒤에서 밀며 열심히 달려보겠다”고 말했다.
안경원 창원특례시 제1부시장은 “한 해 동안 이웃과 함께 나눔을 실천해 오신 자원봉사자 여러분께 감사를 드린다”며 “창원특례시가 아름답게 피어날 수 있는 이유는 지역 곳곳에서 마음을 나누어 주는 자원봉사자 여러분 덕분으로 소중한 손길 하나하나가 자유롭게 뻗어나갈 수 있도록 언제나 든든한 버팀목이 되도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
