[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남연구원이 개원 30주년을 맞아 8일 창원컨벤션센터에서 기념식을 개최했다.
이날 행사는 경남연구원의 미래 30년을 선도하게 될 주요 이슈와 주제별 진단을 통해 경남의 미래 발전전략을 모색하고 정책에 반영하고자 마련됐다.
기념식에는 박완수 도지사, 김진부 도의회의장, 김병준 전 대통령직인수위 지역균형발전위원회 위원장, 박준 도의회 기획행정 위원장, 백태현 도의원, 유동훈 전국시도연구원 협의회장이 함께 참석했다.
박 도지사는 이날 경남연구원 개원 30주년을 기념해 경남의 도정 발전과 도민의 복리 증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받은 마상열 연구전략실장 등 3명에게 표창패를 직접 수여했다.

박 도지사는 환영사를 통해 “경남연구원은 지난 30년간 지자체의 역량을 한껏 높이며 지방자치를 한 단계 향상시키는 데 노력해왔다”며 “경남의 새로운 재도약과 지역 발전의 밑거름이 되는 싱크탱크로서 큰 역할을 계속 해주시길 기대한다”고 말했다.
송부용 경남연구원장은 “경남연구원은 30년의 디딤돌 위에서 미래 100년의 도전을 시작할 것”이라며 “경제와 일자리, 과학기술을 비롯한 전 영역에서 경남의 현재를 진단하고 미래 방향을 제시함으로써 새로운 도약을 준비해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
기념식 이후 경남도가 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하고 아이디어를 발굴하기 위한 세미나가 열렸다.
6개 분과로 나누어 진행된 세미나에는 분야별 전문가들이 대거 참여해 주제발표와 토론을 이어갔다.
세미나 주제는 ▲도전과 도약, 경남경제의 담대한 구상 ▲미래도시 경남 디자인 ▲경남의 지방시대 선도를 위한 분권방안 ▲혁신성장과 기술주도 생태계 조성 ▲이제는 경남시대, 문화관광으로 전개 ▲행복한 도민, 선진 복지보건 구상이다.
경남연구원은 1992년에 개원해 경남도와 전 시군이 공동으로 출연한 공공정책연구기관으로 지역의 자치역량과 정책 기획을 지원하고, 도민들의 행복한 삶을 선도하는 정책을 개발하는 경남 싱크탱크로서의 역할을 해오고 있다.
