고양시 소재 서울컨트리클럽(이사장 조갑주)과 한양컨트리클럽(대표이사 박용식)에서는 “제28회 이웃돕기 자선골프의 날” 행사를 지난달 20일 개최하였다.
이날 행사에는 코로나19, 세계적 경기침체 등의 여파속에서도 어려운 이웃과 소외계층을 돕고자 하는 회원들로 구성된 단체와 많은 개인 회원들이 참여하여 따뜻한 마음과 사랑을 담아 당일 입장료 전액과 모금된 성금 1억원을 12일 고양시청 2층 열린 회의실에서 고양시 복지나눔 사업에 쓰일 수 있도록 이동환 고양시장에게 전달하였다.

이 사랑의 성금은 고양시사회복지협의회를 통하여 고양시 관내 어려운 이웃과 소외계층에게 전달될 예정이다.
그동안 서울.한양컨트리클럽에서는 1995년부터 매년 11월 이웃돕기 행사를 개최하여 정성어린 성금을 1995년부터 2021년까지 총 27회에 걸쳐 19억4천여만원을 고양시에 전달하여 어려운 이웃과 소외계층을 돕는데 동참하고 있다.
서울.한양컨트리클럽은 1964년 개장 이래 현재까지 고양시 토착 기업으로 해마다 50억원에 이르는 지방세를 납부하여 시 재정 자립에도 많은 기여를 하고 있으며, 어려운 경제 여건속에서도 이웃을 생각하는 따뜻한 마음으로 매년 이웃돕기 성금 모금을 지속적으로 실천하고 있다.
또한 해마다 인근 지역주민 행사에도 적극적으로 후원하여 지역사회 발전에 기여하고 있으며, 10개 해외 골프장과 자매결연을 통해 해외 골퍼들을 유치함으로서 지역경제 활성화에 일조를 하고 있는 골프장이다.
