[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 12일 도청 신관 대강당에서 ‘제15회 경상남도장애인체육상 시상식’을 개최했다.
‘경상남도장애인체육상 시상식’은 장애인의 체육발전에 기여해 온 체육인의 노고를 격려하고, 장애인체육의 위상을 제고 하고자 매년 개최되는 행사로, 2008년에 시작해 올해로 15회째를 맞았다.
이날 시상식은 박완수 경상남도지사, 강용범 도의회 부의장을 비롯한 수상자와 가족, 장애인체육인 500여 명이 참석한 가운데 난타공연, 유공자 시상, 체육 장학금·후원금 증서 전달, 인사말씀, 기념촬영 순으로 진행됐다.
유공자 시상에는 윤창구 경상남도 장애인 슐런협회 선수, 지정화 사천 장애인종합복지관 체육지원팀 체육교사 등 8명이 도지사 표창, 김한영 창원시 장애인육상연맹 선수 등 6명이 도의회의장 표창을 수상했다. 또, 이정희 양산시장애인체육회 사무국장 등 4명은 경상남도 장애인체육회장 감사·공로패를 받았다.
이어 우현욱 학생 등 우수한 성적을 거둔 선수 4명에게는 체육장학금 증서가, 홍미웅 씨 등 장애인체육 발전에 공로를 인정받은 3명에게는 체육 기부자 후원금 증서가 전달됐다.

박완수 도지사는 “체육인 여러분들께서 장애인체육대회에 출전해 열정과 노력을 펼치며 발전 가능성을 보여줬다”며 “경남도는 장애인 체육시설을 비롯한 인프라를 좀 더 확충함으로써 장애인의 체육 발전과 복지 증진을 위한 기반을 마련하는 데 꾸준하게 노력해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
