[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 지난 12일 한림농협 농산물산지유통센터에서 올해 처음 수확한 프리미엄 딸기를 미국에 수출하기 위한 첫 선적을 한다고 13일 밝혔다.
김해시 한림면에서 생산된 프리미엄 딸기 1.2t은 항공편으로 미국에 도착한 다음 로스엔젤레스 현지 마트에서 판매된다.
김해시와 한림농협은 딸기 수출 확대를 위해 기존 수출 품종인 ‘매향’보다 당도가 더 높은 국내 ‘금실’로 품종을 변경해 지난 2년간 준비 기간을 거쳤으며, 풍부한 일조량과 비옥한 토양의 양분을 흡수해 선명한 색깔과 높은 당도에 식감이 좋은 프리미엄 딸기로 해외에서도 좋은 평가를 받았다.
이병관 김해시 농업기술센터 소장은 “인플레이션과 금리 인상 등 세계 경기침체로 인한 수출 증가세 둔화가 전망되나 이번 미국 수출을 계기로 캐나다, 유럽 등지에도 수출이 확대될 수 있도록 노력을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
