고양시는 민선8기 일자리대책 종합계획을 수립하고 경제자유구역 지정과 연계양질의 일자리를 창출해 글로벌 자족도시로 발돋움 하겠다는 청사진을 19일 밝혔다.

고양시는 고용률 68.5% 달성을 목표로 정하고 직접 일자리, 직업능력개발훈련 및 일자리 인프라 구축 등 분야별 대책마련을 위한 전략 수립과 대책마련에 나섰다.
고양시의 2022년 상반기 고용률은 지난해보다 1% 증가한 67.3%이다.
코로나에 대응해 재정일자리 주도로 고용률이 상승한 고양시는 민선 8기에는 공공 주도의 재정일자리는 효율화하고, 민간 주도의 지속가능한 양질의 일자리 창출을 위해 노력한다는 방침이다.
특히 시는 민선 8기에 심혈을 기울이고 있는 경제자유구역 지정과 이와 연계한 바이오 정밀의료분야, 방송영상산업· 마이스 산업, IP산업 등 전략산업·첨단산업 분야 생태계 조성으로 미래 먹거리창출에 주력할 계획이다.
이를 효율적으로 추진하기 위해 시는 ▲고양최적형 일자리 거버넌스 구축 ▲경제자유구역 연계형 일거리 창출 ▲시민 모두가 만족하는 균형 일자리 ▲지속가능 일자리를 위한 여건 조성을 4대 핵심 전략으로 삼았다.
시는 매년 6,000여억원의 예산을 투입하여 5~600개의 세부사업을 추진할 계획이다.
