민선 제2대 고양시체육회장 선거에 출마한 유재복 후보는 지난12일 고양시덕양구선거관리위원회에 후보 등록을 마친뒤 본격적인 선거운동에 나섰다.
20일 기호 2번을 부여받은 유 후보는 ‘평생 체육인으로 살아온 체육정책, 체육행정, 체육현장실무를 모두 겸비한 교수 출신 체육전문가’라고 자신을 소개하고 승리를 다짐했다.

유 후보는 고양지역 토박이로 일산초·중·고를 졸업하고 경희대와 같은 대학 경영대학원 스포츠경영학과를 졸업한 체육학 석사출신이다.
또 고양시태권도협회 회장을 8년 동안 역임했으며 경민대학교 겸임교수, 고양시청 여자태권도부 감독을 거쳐, 고양시체육회 사무국장으로 8년 동안 재임하면서 행정과 실무를 두루 거친 체육전문가로 평가된다.
유 후보는 이번 선거에서 체육관련 정책을 8가지로 압축한 공약을 발표했다.

또 “고양시를 앞서가는 생활체육 복지도시, 스포츠 중심 도시, 종목단체와 동호인 우선 정책, 스포츠 산업 도시로 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
이어“고양시체육회에 꼭 필요한 사람은 지역, 연령, 계층을 막론하고 폭넓은 인간관계와 강한 추진력을 갖춘 준비된 일꾼은 유재복 뿐이다’고 강조했다.
한편 체육회장 선거운동기간은 오는 21일 자정까지 9일 동안이다.
다음날인 22일 고양시청 문예회관에서 대의원 216명을 대상으로 오후 2시부터 후보자별 정견발표를 하고 오후 3시~5시까지 현장투표를 통해 회장을 선출한다.
