포항해경에 따르면 올해 대외(인사혁신처)1건, 해경청 7건, 동해지방청 6건의 평가와 경진대회에서 우수한 성적 거두며 보람 있는 결실을 맺었다.
이와 같은 성과를 거두기 위해 포항해경은 해상에서의 사고 대응력 강화를 위해 제일 중요한 것은 조직력을 갖춘 팀워크가 필수라고 보고 개인별 명확한 임무 부여와 상황별 대응 훈련을 반복·숙달함으로써 해상에서 사고 발생시 구조역량은 물론 개인역량 향상에 노력했다.
또한 갈수록 사고의 양상이 다양화하는 상황에 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 주인의식을 바탕으로 해양경찰의 기본이 되는 함정이나 기타장비를 최상의 상태로 유지하기 위해 철저한 예방정비(PMS)로 장비관리문화를 조성하고 해양경찰로서의 임무수행에 차질이 없도록 준비했다.
특히 금년에 새롭게 시행되는 ‘경비함정 섹터관리제’와 ‘취약해역 종합안전망’등을 포항해경 관할 특성에 맞게 분석하고 방안을 모색함으로써 파출소와 함정의 현장부서에 방향성을 제시하고, 자기주도적인 근무환경을 만들고 책임감을 높여 조직의 결속력을 다졌다.
