브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자 = 성일종 국민의힘 정책위의장이 "방역당국은 일정 기준을 충족하는 경우 실내 마스크 착용 의무를 해제하고 권고로 바꿀 계획임을 보고했다"고 22일 밝혔다.
성일종 정책위의장은 이날 국회에서 열린 실내 마스크 의무 해제 당정협의회를 마친 뒤 이같이 전했다. 해제 기준은 확진자, 위중증 환자, 사망자의 수와 추세 등을 종합적으로 고려해 정해질 것으로 알려졌다.
다만, 성 정책위의장은 "위험성이 큰 일부 시설, 요양원, 병원, 약국, 사회복지시설 등은 여기에서 제외될 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
국민의힘 측은 실내 마스크 의무 착용 해제로 일일 확진자 수가 일시적으로 증가하더라도 현재 의료 인력이나 시설 등을 통해 충분히 대처할 수 있다는 전문가 의견을 정부 측에 전달한 것으로 전해졌다.
정진석 국민의힘 비상대책위원장도 이날 협의회에 앞서 "방심은 금물"이라면서도 "이제 실내 마스크 착용 의무의 기준과 대상, 방법 등에 대해 사회적 논의를 통해 한 걸음 진전된 변화를 이끌어 낼 시간이 됐다고 생각된다"고 말했다.
