한국자유총연맹은 12월 23일 오전 10시, 서울 남산에 위치한 자유센터에서 임시총회를 개최해 제21대 총재로 강석호 전 국회의원을 선임했다. 한국자유총연맹은 23일자 보도자료에서 “강석호 신임 총재는 총재후보자추천위원회에서 추천된 총재 후보자 신분으로 개최된 임시총회에서 연맹의 정관에 따라 대의원들의 추대로 제21대 총재로 선임되었으며, 임기는 전임 총재의 잔여 임기인 2025년 2월 정기총회일까지”라고 밝혔다.
신임 강석호 총재는 1955년생으로 중동고등학교와 한국외국어대학교를 졸업 후, 18/19/20대 국회의원과 독도사랑운동본부 총재 등을 역임했다.
