브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 26일 북한의 무인기 여러대가 비무장지대(DMZ)를 넘어 남하하는 사건이 벌어졌다.
북한 무인기가 우리 영토를 침범한 것은 지난 2017년 6월 이후 약 5년6개월 만이다.
합동참모본부에 따르면 이날 오전 10시 25분경 경기도 일대에선 북한이 보낸 무인기로 추정되는 미상의 항적이 군 탐지자산에 여러개 포착됐다. 무인기들은 경기도 김포와 파주, 강화도 일대로 넘어왔다.
군 당국은 남하한 무인기들의 항적에 대해, 직선으로만 내려온 게 아니라 유턴을 하거나 좌우로 움직이는 등 각기 다양한 항적을 보였다면서 그 중 일부는 주민들이 거주하는 민가 인근 상공까지 내려오기도 했다고 전했다.
이에 군은 군사분계선(MDL) 이북에서부터 포착된 무인기를 대상으로 경고방송과 함께 경고사격을 여러차례 가했다.
또한 공군 전투기와 공격헬기 등을 출격시켜 격추작전에 나섰다.
하지만 일부 무인기는 육안으로 식별 가능한 수준까지 낮게 날기도 했고, 고도를 계속해서 변경해 우리 군의 탐지자산에 탐지됐다 소실되기를 반복하는 등 격추에 어려움이 따랐다.

한편 이번 북한 무인기 대응을 위해 공군 원주기지에서 출격한 KA-1 경공격기가 이륙 직후 추락하는 사고도 발생했다. 이날 오전 11시39분경 제8전투비행단 소속 KA-1 1대가 원주기지에서 이륙한 직후 강원도 횡성군 횡성읍 반곡리 일대의 밭에 추락했다.
조종사 2명은 다행히 비상탈출에 성공했으며 추락 원인에 대해선 군 당국의 조사가 진행 중이다.
아울러 이번 사건으로 인천국제공항 및 김포국제공항 항공편 일부가 지연·연기 운행됐다. 이날 오후 1시22시부터 오후 2시6분까지 인천공항과 김포공항에서 이륙 예정이던 여객기 각각 10여편이 지연 운항됐다.
