[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 지난 26일 고(故) 김구전 일병의 유족에게 화랑무공훈장을 전수했다고 27일 밝혔다.
김구전 일병은 1927년 거창군 거창읍 장팔리에서 출신으로 26살 때인 1952년 5월 12일에 입대해, 수도사단 분대원으로 전투에 임하다가 1952년 10월 9일 강원도 금화지구 전투에서 전사했다.
6·25전쟁 중인 강원도 금화지구 원동리 전투에 참전해 큰 공을 세웠지만 지금까지 훈장을 받지 못하다가 70년이 지나 막내동생인 김구봉씨가 대신해서 훈장을 받았다.
이번에 전수한 훈장은 2019년부터 국방부와 육군이 지방자치단체와 협력하여 추진하고 있는 ‘6·25전쟁 무공훈장 찾아 주기’ 사업에 따른 것으로 수훈자가 속한 수도사단 부대사와 소속 기간 동안 해당 사단이 참전한 전쟁사를 참고했다.
