세종시의회 전현직 의원들이 한자리에 모여 시정 발전을 논의하는 간담회가 지난 26일 열렸다.
 

세종시의회(의장 상병헌)와 의정회(회장 황순덕) 주관으로 열린 만찬 간담회는 세종시의회 상병헌 의장과김학서 제2부의장을 비롯해 여야 교섭단체 대표인 김광운·여미전 의원, 안신일 의원, 김충식 의원, 김동빈 의원, 김영현 의원, 이현정 의원, 최원석 의원, 윤지성 의원이 참석했다.

또 전직 연기군의원과 전직 세종시의원들로 구성된 단체인 의정회 에서는 황순덕 의정회장(1~5대 연기군의회)과 정준이 총무(2대 세종시의회)를 포함해 15명의 회원이 함께했다.

이날 간담회를 통해 전현직 의원들은 행정수도 완성 등 세종시 발전에 필요한 주요 현안과 해결 방안 등에 대해 논의하고 의회 위상 강화 및 신뢰도 향상을 위해 다각적으로 소통하고 협력하기로 했다.

상병헌 의장은 “의정 원로 및 선배 의원들의 열정과 헌신 덕분에 올해 국회 세종의사당 및 대통령 세종집무실 설치라는 값진 결실을 맺을 수 있었다고 생각한다”면서 “앞으로도 발전적인 의회 운영 방향과 행정수도 완성 등 현안 해결을 위한 의견 수렴 과정에서 의정회의 고견과 조언을 깊게 새기겠다”고 말했다.

이에 황순덕 의정회장은 “지난 2004년 관습법에 의한 신행정수도건설특별법이 위헌 판결 이후 8만 연기군민과 연기군의원들이 삭발, 단식농성및 150여일 간의 촛불집회 등 피땀 어린 노력으로 세종시를 온전히 지켜낼 수 있었다는 것을 꼭 기억해 주길 바란다”며, “앞으로 특별자치시로서의 위상과 세종시 출범 취지에 맞게 국가 균형 발전을 선도하는 행정수도로 발전해나갈 수 있도록 더욱 노력해 달라”고 당부했다.
