최민호 세종시장이 김영환 충북지사가 최근 페이스북을 통해 언급한 ‘충청밉상 세종시’ 글이 자신을 겨냥한 것이라는 분석과 관련 답변을 피하며 맞대응을 자제했다.
최민호 시장은 9일 '신년 교례회 '에서 기자들이 ‘충청밉상'이 최 시장을 겨냥한 것 아니냐’고 질문을 하자 “ 충청권 전체 상생되는 계획”이라고만 말했다.
최 시장은" 제가 가지고 있는 논리적 근거는 여건은 굉장히 변화됐다는 것이고 경제적 타당성이 그리고 주민들의 편익이 우선되는 계획이기 때문에 그렇게 주장한 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
이어 "제 생각은 행정 수도 미래 전략 도시의 세종시 완성을 위해 끊임없이 그리고 흔들림없이 나아가는 것"이라며 "저의 신념과 그런 계획으로 이해시켜 달라"고 말해 대응을 자제했다.
특히, 김영환 지사의 발언이나 올린 글에 대한 입장을 묻자 "충청권은 더욱 협력해야하고 세종역 선설이 분열의 계획이 아니고 충청권 전체에 윈윈하는 전략이라는 점을 인내심을 가지고 이해시키고 설명하겠다”라며 즉답을 피했다.
최민호 시장은 ‘세종시 입장에서 대응에 나서야 되는 것 아니냐 ’는 질문에도 “그건 옳지 않다”라고 했다.
한편, 김영환 충북지사는 지난 6일 자신의 사회관계망서비스(SNS) 계정에 “ 최민호 시장이 국토부 장관에게 건의한 'KTX 세종역 신설과 관련 세종시를 '충청밉상'이라는 폄훼하는 글을 올렸다.
