브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= CJ대한통운·한진택배 등 택배업체들의 택배비 인상에 이어 편의점에서 자체 물류를 통해 운영해오던 이른바 '반값택배' 가격도 인상될 전망이다.
편의점 업계에선 GS25가 가장 먼저 가격 인상을 선언했다.
GS25 편의점을 운영하는 GS리테일은 오는 2월 1일부터 자체 물류망을 이용하는 반값택배 가격을 인상하기로 했다.
GS25는 지난해 5월에도 가격을 인상한데 이어 9개월만에 또 다시 인상을 결정했다.
이에 따라 500g 이하 반값택배 요금은 1600원에서 1800원으로 200원(12.5%) 오른다.
500g 초과~1㎏ 이하 택배 요금은 1900원에서 2200원으로 300원(15.8%) 인상되며 1㎏ 초과~5㎏ 이하 요금은 2300원에서 2600원 300원(13.0%) 높아진다.
GS리테일측은 최근 유류비 상승과 제반비용 증가 등을 이유로 들며 불가피한 인상임을 강조했다.
한편 반값택배는 일반 택배사를 이용하지 않고 편의점 자체 물류 차량을 이용해 배송하는 서비스다. 일반 택배보다 배송기간이 1~2일 더 길지만, 가격이 저렴하고 24시간 접수가 가능하다는 장점이 있다.
