브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국토교통부가 법인소유 차량의 사적 사용을 막기위해 이르면 올해 7월부터 연두색의 법인차 전용 번호판을 도입할 계획이다.
국토부는 31일 서울 서초구 한국자동차산업협회에서 공청회를 열고 '법인 승용차 전용 번호판 도입' 방안을 발표했다.
국토부는 법인차의 사적 사용을 막는데 전용번호판 도입이 효과적일 것으로 보고 있다. 윤석열 대통령도 대선 공약으로 법인차 전용 번호판 도입을 약속하기도 했다.
고급 수퍼카가 눈에 확 띄는 연두색 번호판을 달고 다녀야 하기 때문에 사적사용을 자제하는 효과가 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
국토부는 법인차의 사적사용에 대한 관리가 필요한 상황이라고 전했다. 실제로 2018년부터 최근 5년간 법인명의 승용차의 신규등록 취득가액은 1억원 초과∼4억원 이하 차량 중 71.3%, 4억원 초과 차량 중 88.4%가 법인소유 승용차였다.
더욱이 지난 5년간 신규등록 자동차 수는 줄고 있으나 법인명의의 자동차는 연평균 2.4% 가량 증가하고 있다.
법인차 전용 번호판 적용 대상을 보면, 공공부문에선 관용차와 공공기관이 구매하거나 렌트, 리스한 승용차 등이 포함된다. 다만 해당 차량이 경호, 보안 및 수사를 위한 목적인 차량인 경우는 제외된다.

민간부문에선 법인 명의로 된 비사업용 승용자동차, 리스차 등이다.
민간기업이 구매한 렌터카는 대상에서 제외됐다. 일반번호판을 달고 있지만 '하, 허, 호' 등 별도 식별기호가 있기 때문이다. 하지만 제도 실효성을 고려해 추후 전용번호판을 부착하는 방안을 검토 중이다.
