창원형 수소 모빌리티 UAE 이어 네팔에서도 관심

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시의 ‘아랍에미리트(이하 UAE) 아부다비 시장 진출’ 소식에 이어 네팔에서도 창원시의 수소 모빌리티 산업에 관심을 가지고 창원시의 문을 두드리고 있다고 3일 밝혔다.

네팔 정부 및 교통공학회 주관, UN 경제사회이사회 및 한국교통연구원 외 8개 기관 후원으로 네팔 카트만두에서 3일부터 양일간 하이브리드 방식(화상회의 겸용)으로 개최되는 제2회 국제회의에서 창원시의 수소 모빌리티 산업이 대한민국을 대표하는 우수사례로 선정되어 발표하는 시간을 가졌다.

이번 국제회의는 ‘지속가능발전 모빌리티를 위한 통합시스템 구축’이라는 주제로 수소뿐 아니라, 전기차를 포함한 친환경에너지를 활용한 교통시설에 관한 우수사례를 공유하고 새로운 교통수단에 대한 문제점을 파악하여 정책화를 희망하는 전 세계 정부기관 및 지방자치단체, 연구기관들이 참석한 행사다.

본 회의에서 창원시는 온라인으로 참석하여 한국교통연구원 및 미국 켈리포니아 대학교와 공동으로 한국의 수소모빌리티 산업의 총괄적인 현황 및 사례를 설명하고 대한민국의 대표적 우수사례로 창원시의 수소 모빌리티 정책 및 우수사례를 발표하여 참석자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.

류효종 미래전략산업국장은 “네팔과 같은 개발도상국에서도 친환경 수소연료 전기차의 상용화에 관심이 큰 만큼, 국제사회에서 창원시의 수소 모빌리티 사업의 우수성을 적극적으로 홍보하여 관내 수소 관련 기업들이 해외에 진출할 수 있는 교두보를 마련할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
