세종시선관위가 제 3회 전국동시조합장선거와 관련해 위법행위를 한 조합장을 고발했다고 3일 밝혔다.
세종시 선관위에 따르면 A씨는 조합원 모임에 현금 20만 원을 제공한 혐의를 받고 있다.
'공공단체등 위탁선거에 관한 법률'에 의하면 조합장은 재임 중 기부행위를 할 수 없고 이를 위반하는 경우 3년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처한다.
세종시선관위 관계자는" 선거일까지 조합원에게 돈, 선물, 밥값 등을 제공하는 행위에 대한 감시·단속을 강화하고 적발된 위법행위는 ‘무관용 원칙’으로 신속하고 엄중하게 조치할 계획"이라고 말했다.
