군에 따르면 이날 행사에는 손병복 울진군수, 임승필 울진군의회 의장, 김원석 경북도의회 의원을 비롯한 군의원, 기관단체장 등 군민 500여 명이 참석했다
손병복 군수는 기념사에서“성원해주신 군민들과 총력을 다해준 700여 공직자들께 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드린다”며 “앞으로 상용원전 연계 수소생산을 위한 R&D사업, SMR활용 수소생산, 넷제로 시티 조성 등 많은 난관과 과제가 남아 있기 때문에 전 군민이 힘을 합쳐야 한다”라고 강조했다.
아울러“수소 전주기 산업생태계 구축, 산학융합지구 지정 및 대학 유치를 통한 산업 현장인력 양성, 물류ㆍ수소 운송을 위한 철도ㆍ고속도로ㆍ수출항만 등 산업기반SOC를 확충하여 글로벌 원자력수소 허브로서 일자리가 넘쳐나고 사람이 모이는 지방강소도시를 만들겠다”라고 미래 울진의 비전을 발표했다.
울진 원자력수소 국가산단 후보지는 사업시행자 선정, 타당성 검토 등 일정한 절차를 거쳐 국가산업단지로 조성된다.
2030년까지 죽변 후정리 일원에 48만평 규모로 조성되며 조성비는 약 4,000억원으로 국내 수소 관련 대기업을 비롯해 소부장 제조업체와 연구시설 등이 집적하게 된다.
국가혁신 수소 산업클러스터가 조성되어 글로벌 원자력수소 허브로서 탄소중립 시대 핵심과제인 국가 수소 산업을 울진이 중심이 되어 이끌어 나가게 될 전망이다.
경제적효과는 생산유발효과 7조 1천억원, 고용유발효과 24,050명으로 막대한 파급효과가 예상된다.
한편 정부는 15일 대통령 주재로 개최된 제14차 비상경제민생회의에서 울진 원자력수소 국가산업단지를 비롯한 전국에 신규 국가산업단지 후보지 14개소를 지정 발표했다.
