계간 시전문지인 사이펀 2023년 봄호(통권 28호)가 나왔다. 이번 봄호에는 한국 지역문예지의 춘추전국화를 이끈 대구의 ‘시와반시’ 발행인 강현국 시인이 ‘사이펀의 창’ 시론을 통해 현 단계 문예지의 특성을 진단해주고 있다.
또한 사이펀의 인기 코너인 봄호의 ‘주목, 이 시인을 만나다’는 강원도 춘천의 이영춘 시인을 찾아간다. 차분하면서도 흐트러짐 없는 작품세계를 보여주는 시인의 문학여정을 이번에도 김정수 편집위원이 만나 최근 작품과 근황을 만났다.
‘사이펀이 주목한 시집’에는 18년 만에 펴낸 이성수 시인의 시집 『눈 한번 깜빡』을 선정해 시인의 신작과 대표 시, 오태호 평론가의 리뷰를 담았다. 특히 이성수 시인의 이번 시집은 오랜만에 펴낸 시집이었다. 시집 전편을 아우르는 사유의 서정성을 보여주는 문학적 성숙도가 깊어 주목시집으로 선택하게 되었다.
봄호 ‘신작 소시집’에는 전라도의 두 시인이 초대되었다. 이대흠 시인과 이재연 시인이다. 두 시인의 작품적 행보는 달라도 언어의 기교적 완숙미를 보는 즐거움이 크다. 두 시인의 리뷰는 상명대 전해수 평론가가 폭넓게 분석해놓았다. 또 ‘이 계절의 시’에는 우리 시단의 중추적 역할을 해온 분들을 모셨다. 현대시의 이미지를 추구해온 최휘웅 시인을 비롯해 오랜만에 풍성한 서정적인 시를 보내온 문형렬 시인과 홍일표, 이진엽, 정채원 시인이다.
신작시에는 이번에도 전국의 시인들이 좋은 작품들을 보내주었다. 김상연 김정순 강희안 강민숙 김호균 류재만 장하빈 김언 조동범 박철영 정겸 김영희 김선향 한우진 이정모 김완 이두의 임헤라 정진욱 조미희 배주열 고안나 김뱅상 채종국 이경옥 가은 한덕수 김동곤 오선덕 시인의 시가 담겼다. 특히 신작시에는 시골에서 은둔형 서정시를 쓰는 김정순 시인과 현실의 매서운 눈으로 사회적 관심사로 메스를 가하는 강민숙 시인, 언어의 미학성을 보여주는 김언, 조동범 시인, 막 등단한 신인에 이르기까지 사이펀이 추구하는 다양한 지층을 담고 있는 것이 특징이다.
전국을 순회하는 ‘사이펀 문학토크’는 전라도 목포의 시인을 찾았다. 한국작가회의 사무총장으로 동분서주하는 박관서 시인과 인천에서 목포로 이주해 새로운 문학여정을 담고 있는 류경 시인을 모셨다. 두 시인에 대한 합평 진행은 곽윤경 평론가가 맡아주었다. 부산에서 강은교 시인을 비롯하여 권오주 김명옥 김미선 김뱅상 박이훈 시인 등 사이펀의 시인들 회원 다수가 먼 일정임에도 참석해 빛을 더했다.
‘사이펀의 시인들’ 인터뷰는 최근 시집 『옹알옹알 꽃들이 말을 걸고』를 출간한 김명옥 시인과 『해독의 지느러미를 헤쳐간다』를 펴낸 김미선 시인을 만났다. 사이펀 1회 신인상으로 등단한 김려 시인이 두 시인을 만나 최근 시집에 대한 여러 이야기들을 풀어 담아왔다. 또한 박재열 경북대 명예교수의 우리의 향가를 노벨문학상의 출발점으로 삼자는 경주 ‘문정헌’에서의 특강원고를 그대로 옮겨와 싣는다.
아울러 연재물인 강은교 시인의 ‘문학편지’와 조해훈 시인의 ‘한시로 읽는 역사이야기’ 그리고 ‘박대현 평론가의 현대시 읽기’가 실리게 되어 기쁨을 더한다. 박대현 평론가는 예리한 분석력으로 현대시를 일별하는 뛰어난 문체를 가지고 있기에 독자들의 이해도를 위해 필자가 허락하는 한 계속 연재할 예정이다. 한편 편집부에 접수된 시집들 중 제한된 지면으로 인해 임효빈, 김선태, 김순옥, 보우, 복효근, 유종, 임헤라, 정온, 정은하, 한영식 시인 등 일부의 시집들만 골라 ‘해설 엿보기’에 담았다.
