브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 검찰이 지난 2021년 5월 더불어민주당 전당대회에서 '돈 봉투'가 살포됐다는 의혹과 관련, 구체적 정황을 포착하고 수사에 착수했다.
13일 법조계에 따르면 서울중앙지검 반부패수사2부(부장검사 김영철)는 12일 정당법 및 정치자금법 위반 혐의로 민주당 윤관석, 이성만 의원과 송영길 전 대표 보좌관 박모씨, 강래구 전 한국감사협회장, 이정근 전 민주당 사무부총장 등 10여 명의 자택과 사무실 20여 곳을 압수수색했다.
압수수색 영장을 보면, 윤관석, 이성만 의원 모두 피의자로 적시돼 있는 것으로 전해졌다.
윤관석 의원에 대한 의혹은 2021년 5월 민주당 전대를 앞두고 강래구 전 한국감사협회장이 이정근 전 더불어민주당 사무부총장을 통해 윤 의원에게 선거자금을 전달했다는 것이다.
윤 의원은 송영길 전 민주당 대표의 측근으로, 2021년 5월 전당대회서 송영길 후보 캠프에서 활동했다.
검찰은 강 전 협회장이 2021년 3월경 이 전 부총장에게 "봉투 10개가 준비됐으니, 윤 의원에게 전달해달라"고 말하는 내용이 녹음된 파일도 확보한 것으로 알려졌다.
검찰은 실제로 민주당 현역 의원 10명에게 돈봉투가 건네진 것으로 보고 있으며 일부 의원이 300만원이 든 돈봉투를 전달받은 구체적인 정황까지도 확보했다고 한다.
강래구 전 협회장은 이외에도 여러 경로를 통해 대의원 등 전대 관계자들에게 수십만원이 든 봉투를 주는 등 수천만원에 달하는 돈봉투를 살포한 것으로 전해졌다.
그러나 윤 의원은 전날 입장문을 통해 "최근 언론에 보도된 이정근 전 위원장의 전당대회 돈봉투 의혹과 저는 아무 관련이 없다"며 "보도에 언급된 인물들 이야기에 본인이 거론됐다는 것조차 황당하기 짝이 없다"고 주장했다.
한편 이번 민주당 전대 돈봉투 의혹은 이정근 전 부총장의 10억원 규모 불법 정치자금 의혹을 수사하는 과정에서 포착됐다. 이 전 부총장은 2019년 12월부터 지난해 1월까지 각종 사업과 인사 청탁 명목으로 사업가 박씨에게 수십회에 걸쳐 9억4000만원을 수수한 혐의를 받고 있다.
검찰은 이씨가 사용하던 휴대전화 여러대를 포렌식하는 과정에서, 강래구 전 협회장이 돈봉투를 살포한 의혹이 담긴 녹음파일들을 확보한 것으로 전해졌다.
