한국미술교류협회측은 5월4일자 보도자료에서 "하정열 화백(예비역 장군)이 한국미술교류협회 수석부이사장 자격으로 베트남 정부에 초청되어 공식적인 초대작가 인증서를 받았다. 그는 이번 베트남 국경일 즈음하여 열리는 베트남 정부주관 국제전시회에 초대작가로 초청되어, 4월 25일부터 5월 1일까지 1주일 동안 엔베이 국제전시회에 참여했다”고 전하고 “그는 전시회 기간 동안 정부의 각종 행사에 참여하면서 베트남 정부관계자 및 예술가들과의 친목을 통해 양국간의 문화교류협력의 여건을 증진하였다. 그는 전시회 기간 중 엔베이성 박물관에는 20호 크기의 작품 ‘우주삼라만상222004’를, 유네스코 베트남지부에는 20호 크기의 ‘하늘202001’를 각각 기증하여, 한-베트남 양국의 우호협력에 기여했다”고 밝혔다.
