월성본부 체험형 산업안전교육장에는 59종의 안전교육용 컨텐츠가 설치되어 있으며, 특히 3m 이상의 고소작업 체험용 비계와 가상현실 체험관(VR) 등 현장에서발생할 수 있는 사고들과 화재, 지진안전 체험관 등 실생활에서도 발생할 수 있는 사고들을 실제적으로 경험할 수 있는 교육을 지원하고 있다.
이날 개관행사에 참석한 김한성 본부장은 “월성원자력 직원의 산업안전 체험교육뿐만 아니라 초·중·고 학생들을 포함한 모든 지역주민들에게 산업안전 문화를 확산할 수 있는 초석이 되겠다고”고 말했다.
현재는 한수원 직원 및 협력업체 직원 등 관련 종사자를 대상으로 운영을 시작하였으며, 빠른 시일 내에 인근 주민, 학교 등 외부에서도 적극 이용할 수 있도록 운영을 확대해 나갈 예정이다.
한편 월성본부는 체험형 산업안전교육장뿐만 아니라, 노·경·협력회사가 참여하는 산업안전 캠페인, 폭염기간 온열질환 예방 활동 등을 통해 산업안전을 최우선으로 두고 사고가 발생하지 않도록 꾸준한 노력을 펼치고 있다.
