광주대학교(총장 김동진) 호심기념도서관은 대학혁신지원사업 일환으로 5월 16일 안중근 평전 ‘영웅’ 저자인 이창호 작가를 초청해 ‘인문학 강좌’를 실시했다.
교내 행정관 3층 스마트강의실에서 진행된 이날 특강에서 이창호 작가는 ‘영웅 안중근의 동양 평화와 꿈과 도전’을 주제로 도마 안중근의 일대기, 안중근의 리더십, 동양 평화 등에 대해 광주대 재학생 80여 명과 다양한 이야기를 나눴다.
학생들은 “특강 전 읽었던 ‘영웅’을 통해 안중근 의사에 대한 여러 가지 호기심을 가졌는데 작가의 자세한 해설을 통해 우리 역사를 고찰해본 소중한 시간이었다”고 말했다.
이창호 작가는 대한명인(연설학) 겸 대한민국 신지식인(교육)이며, 이창호스피치리더십연구소를 운영하는 등 스피치학 분야 전문가로도 잘 알려져 있다. 국정교과서 초등학교 6학년 읽기 도서 및 고등학교 국어(下) 교사용 지도서에 글이 수록되어 있다. 또한 다양한 칼럼과 TV, 라디오 방송활동을 비롯해 한국청소년봉사단연맹 부총재, 전,통일교육위원, 안중근정신실천 전국웅변대회 심사위원장 등을 역임했다. 저서로는 ‘이순신 리더십’ 등 30여 권이 있으며, 자원봉사 지도로 대통령 표창, 세계언론평화대상 인권대상을 받은 바 있다.
